Score!

Thrift store shopping is an inherited fascination in my family.  My grandma does it.  My aunts do it.  It was always an exciting day when Mom would say we were going to Salvation Army.  In college, I got to experience the treasures of DI (Deseret Industries), and while I was on my mission we would hit up Goodwill and the other thrift stores we could find on our preparation day.

Since we've been married, I haven't had as much time/energy to thrift shop until now.  Monday Russell and I stopped by Savers on our trip to run errands.  He wasn't convinced of it right at first, but once he realized I was looking at books for him, he decided to quiet down, go to sleep, and let me browse.

I started in the books to see what I could find. I found 5 books which was great since they have a buy 4 books get 1 free.  Children's picture books are also only 69 cents.  Yes!

Then I wandered through the decorations (nothing good there) and on towards the linens/towels.  I was hoping they'd have some cheap sheets that I could turn into curtains to keep it darker in the bedrooms longer.  Nothing there, but it was worth the look.

Russell was being so good and sleeping so well, that I moved onto furniture.  Again, nothing we absolutely needed, but I'll keep checking back in case they have a good rocking chair or glider and a matching lamp set.

Right next to the furniture was baby clothes.  Good planning on their part.  I was suckered in to browse and came up with some onesies (Russell's onesies stop at about three months, so we are going to need some bigger ones soon) and a really awesome GAP fleece long one piece outfit I've been wanting since before he was even born.

Then I decided I could look for some post-partum clothes to wear while I keep working off the pounds.  That is where the best deal came.

This skirt is in excellent condition, and appears to be from around the same time another one of my most favorite skirts was made.  It made my day, but the best part was that it fit now (tightly) and will fit even better as I shed some more weight.  At the checkout, my total was under $10 for 5 books, a skirt, and 4 things for Russell, all thanks to the 25% off everything on Mondays special.

Savers is definitely being added to our Monday errands!

And, for all those who only came to see a picture of the baby here it is.

Can you tell how he likes to pacify himself?

When the family gets together

We have way too much fun and the time goes by way too quickly.  Good thing the first Scoresby Family Reunion is slated for next June!  We can't wait!
