Randomness

Well, we've just been hanging around. Russell is definitely turning into a little boy and keeping us on our toes.

He definitely loves action. Ben spent an evening pushing him around the apartment in the desk chair. Russell loved it. He also really loved spinning in the chair. A lot. His favorite game off all time is chase, and I have busted the knees out of two pairs of jeans from crawling all over after him.

Russell has gotten into quite a few sticky situations. I was not happy to see the above, but I couldn't stop laughing when I see the below :) At one point he was completely under the crib and didn't know what to do. I'm such a mean mom because the first thing I thought was to get the camera. He also has developed a fondness of the garbage can and really likes to stick his hands inside and grabs his poopy diapers out.

I have been trying to get rid of stuff. I finished this awesome(?) Easter door hanger. Mom started it YEARS ago and gave it to me to finish. I think the Bunny has a Cosmo snout/muzzle. And, I didn't want to do the whiskers or mouth. Russell loves it and can't wait for us to go outside so he can grab at it. I was going to send it to Janet and Jacob, but now Russell loves it too much. I also sewed Russell a bigger blankie. He only had small ones from when he was born and his quilt from Grandma Joslin (that is way too nice for him to drag all over the place and get nasty), so I really quickly (and kind of poorly) whipped this one up. Good thing it is his because he barfed on it before I had even finished it.

I went to the mall twice last week and come home with no clothes! Ben even told me I could buy some, but there just really wasn't anything I felt like buying. I even had a savings pass so I wouldn't have even had to pay full price for stuff.

Ben told me last night that I have learned really quickly how to drive his car. It's not like I'm 16 and learning to drive again, I just had to figure out how his car worked. Not I might even be a little bit better driving her than Ben is (but don't tell him).

The sun finally has come out after a week of gray skies. We are itching for spring time to come. We can't wait to take Russell to the play ground so he can swing and go down the slides. He's gonna love it, for sure.

Since it is Saturday, we've actually gotten out today. We went to a birthday brunch for Ben's old principal. It was fun, and they had really good food. Ben has had to sit through a merit badge fair this afternoon for the scouts. Too bad for him.

We have been wanting girl scout cookies for so long, but have never had $4 in cash on us. Today when Russell and I ran into Wal-Mart, there were some girls outside selling them. I actually got some cash back just so I could buy some cookies. It's the last day they are selling them, so I had to get some. Hopefully, they last longer than they did last year when I was pregnant.

There you go.  A whole bunch of randomness from Roch.

Snow Day!!!

Today Ben had his fourth snow day of the school year.  It is always fun to hear Ben's phone ring and it is the Dover-Eyota Superintendent, Bruce Klaehn, calling to say school is cancelled. Because the district only built in three extra days into the school calendar, they added a day on during the 'spring break' weekend. Lucky for Ben, he was already going to be at the robotics competition, and it counts for a make up day.

We don't have a sled (lame parents) so we were going to pull Russell along in the laundry basket (Ben's idea). It worked great in the very shallow snow, but once we got into deeper snow it didn't work so well. So, I hauled it on my back like a back pack for most of our walk.

When I plunked Russell down in the snow right off the sidewalk he sunk right in and it kept him upright. He didn't like being left alone in the snow, though, and bent over to rub his face in the snow just after I took the picture.

Russell mostly hung out in the carrier. We have rarely used it, but he enjoyed it quite a bit.

Russell made a little snow friend.

Our little snow angel family (Russell's is way up in the top right corner).

My (almost) Ninja

He might be dressed to be a ninja, but he sure isn't quiet enough or good enough at hiding to be a ninja.
