Cooking Group

Our ward has a cooking group that meets once a month and has a demonstration on how to make something (crock-pot cooking, bread, pies, spices, etc.) When we moved into the ward I thought it would be a good thing to go to seeing as I like to cook and thought it would help me meet people and learn some new cooking things. Well, I was wrong! After going to three meetings I hadn't learned much (the crock-pot one was a little helpful, and we enjoy one of the meals demonstrated) and there was little socializing. So, I quit going. Nobody said anything about it until a couple Sundays ago when the lady in charge sat next to me AND ASKED IF I WOULD DO ONE ON CANDY MAKING IN DECEMBER!!!!

Last December's cooking group was a cookie exchange (with normal everyday cookies: lame!)and at one point everyone went around telling a cooking christmas tradition they did growing up in their families. I mentioned that Dad always made candies and then we moved on to the next person. Little did I know that would come back to haunt me.

Anyway, now I need to know what to demonstrate. I'll do some toffee and divinity, but I don't know if I should do something else or not. Suggestions?

My suggestion is to not worry about it until about November 30. Why did they ask you in July?

How long is the meeting? I have a really yummy recipe for homemade snickers bars, but they take awhile.

It ranges in length between 1-2 hours, and I was hoping to keep it on the short end of things:)
