Marriage is What Brings Us Together

Marriage is an interesting thing. It sticks two people together usually with different upbringings, ideas, and ways of doing things and then they are supposed to work things out. Ben has been pretty easy to work with as we have been establishing our marriage/family, and most things are easy for us to agree on.  Marriage also introduces new things to one spouse that are common to the other.

Ben introduced me to this:

It's just a spray bottle with diluted dish soap in it, but it is so great to have around! It makes cleaning up the table and counters easy without having to carry around a soaking wet dishcloth that might not be the cleanest and is dripping water all over. And, if we ever need just a squirt of soapy water we have it on hand.

I introduced Ben to lots of amazing things. One of his favorite is tomatoes in stir-fry. He thought it was weird at first, but when I made it recently without having any tomatoes on hand, he was disappointed that they weren't included.

What type of neat things have you picked up from your spouse?

Mixing the mayo with the tuna in the can. Why dirty a bowl?

Mixing grape jelly with ketchup for a meat sauce like lazy sloppy joes. 5000X tastier than it sounds.
And peanut wars. It's pretty fun to try to knock down a bunch of GI Joes with peanuts.

I still haven't picked up ranch powder on popcorn.

Jacob has really picked up on being cheap. He really prides himself on the fact that we aren't spending any money on Christmas this year.

Jacob didn't pick up on Saturday's Warrior too well.

Those are some good ideas!

Ben still hasn't picked up Saturdays Warrior yet either but he did talk about it when his parents were here.

1. I picked up folding t-shirts department store style instead of in half and in half again. Preston has picked up a lot of healthy habits, like regular flossing and eating lots of oatmeal and rice and beans. Plus, I came downstairs last night, and he was watching Full House without me.

2. I'm glad I'm not getting a Christmas gift from Janet this year, ha ha. Does that mean you are making all your gifts with things you already have?

3. Is the tuna can big enough to mix the mayo in? It doesn't fall out?

I tried the tuna can trick last week and it does work! Ben said it doesn't work when you add pickles, though.
